Improved Gradient-Based Optimizer for Modelling Thermal and Hydropower Plants

Adequate and accurate models of thermal power plants (TPP) hydropower (HPP) are great importance for the optimal economic functioning electric systems. The extracted have a direct impact on dispatch calculations. In this research, modified optimization algorithm called an improved gradient-based optimizer (IGBO) is deployed extraction TPP HPP input-output parameters. Firstly, IGBO tested use with well-known benchmark functions shows outstanding performance over original GBO other competitive algorithms. For parameters HPP, sum absolute error (SAE) utilized as fitness function to be minimized. Secondly, nine employed parameter identification using IGBO.
